La Luna Sangre

Werewolves and Vampires kind of story? This isn't new to all of us! I'm sure you came across Edward, Bella and Jacob from Twilight. We witnessed Bella (human) and Edward (vampire) falling in love with each other. Trust me, I wanted Bella and Jacob to work out! But it just didn't happen! And you know, when it's not meant to be, blame the writer!!

LA LUNA SANGRE isn't the first in the Philippines. It all started with the tv series  in 2008 entitled Lobo (Werewolves) and I am not even going to tell you what the story is all about. Just go ahead and watch it! ^_^  This tv series was continued by the tv series Immortal in 2010 where the strongest woman werewolf fell in love with a strongest vampire. How the story happened? It's for me to know and you to find out! I'm not here to talk about those two tv series! hahahaha!

Kidding aside, I am so excited everyday of the week to watch the continuation of these two tv series. LA LUNA SANGRE! The first and second week was a blast. They did an awesome job of showing the love story of Mateo and Lia from the tv series Immortal. The kids are really great actors as well and they amazingly portrayed their role. I like that it's a suspense-thriller, fantasy kind of drama with a love story? I am only guessing. come on! This is a Filipino tv series, it's expected that there's going to be a love story involve here! And it's Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo? They are great actors and love tandem.

Anyway, it's only the beginning of the third week and I can't wait to watch the next episode. I hope they will make it longer but I can take 30 mins, rather than lesser. That's a good compromise for me!

So, if you are curious about what I am talking about, go ahead and research! hahahah!

La Luna Sangre is a must watch Filipino Fantasy Tv Series! Also, if you want to watch the two tv series Lobo and Immortal, go ahead! I suggest you should before watching La Luna Sangre!

HELP SAVE LIVES IN AFRICA

23 of my friends from the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago headed by Dave Dewes are going to Tanzania East Africa for a medical and dental mission on June 17, 2017.

They will help hundreds of deprived people from Tanzania provide these basic services. I couldn't go with them this year, so sharing the information and help them with their fundraising is all I can do.

Please help us share to others and help us save hundreds of lives.

Thank you for making a difference to the lives of others.

HOW TO SAVE MONEY

IF YOU HAVE A MEASLY INCOME, YOU MIGHT THINK IT'S HARD TO SAVE MONEY BUT THAT'S NOT NECESSARILY TRUE.

I CAN ATTEST THAT HAVING SMALL INCOME DOES NOT HINDER ANYONE FROM SAVING UP. HERE'S HOW MY HUSBAND AND I DID IT.

1. PLAN AHEAD

Planning ahead is the most important ingredient to saving money. You have to know how much exactly you are willing to save per pay check and how much you are willing to give up SPENDING to save.

Example:

If you are earning 1,000 dollars a paycheck, how many percent of the 1,000 you are willing to save. If you want to save about 30% of that a paycheck. Immediately take out the 30% and save it.

The best equation for this is, INCOME-SAVINGS=EXPENSES

My husband and I really love to go out to eat but after we came up with a budget on how much we would like to save a pay check, we thought we wont be able to do what we love as much but we still do, it's just that instead of spending a lot, we spend little and we always always always try to think on how much we are willing to spend when we eat out and stick to that budget.

2. ENVELOPE SYSTEM

We might be old fashion but we use cash in everything now. We used to be so dependent with our debit cards before that we don't have limits to our spending.

As soon as we use the envelope system, we knew exactly how much we can spend on.

Example:

150/ month for grocery

150/ month for our food/clothing/activities
100/ month for family or gift expenses
150/ month for gas
50/month for household needs
120/month for our phone bills with unlimited internet

and the list goes on...

If you create a list on how much you spend and how much you are willing to save, by using the envelope system, the greater chances for you to control your spending and really be frugal but wise spender.

3. GET RID OF UNNECESSARY EXPENSES

Well, who doesn't like to spend if you have money? Spending is okay but if we are over spending and it's not wise anymore, it's time for us to evaluate our expenditures.

I have always been a fan of Robert Kiyosaki and I loved his "doodads" concept in his first book. In his book, he called the wants as "doodads"--- those the we really don't need but we get anyway.

The day we decided to save, my husband and I talked about it seriously. First we decided to get rid of our home internet and cable which really helped us greatly with saving. Then, we talked about not upgrading our phones, then we talked about only spending this much on eating out. These are a few of the things that we did that I am sharing because if it helped us, it might help you as well.

4. DO NOT BEND

When you already decided on how much you are willing to save up, do not change it! You can tweak it as you start but once you are in a habit of doing it, bending your budget will only result to confusion or you can become lenient with it---So as much as possible, don't bend and stick to what you have decided on saving and how much expenses you are willing to cut.

It takes 21 days to form a habit so by habitually not bending to spending, you are actually training yourself to save your money and spend your money efficiently.

5. SHARE

The reason why I want you to share it because in our generation, it is important to have others know the efficient way of spending money and effective way on saving. In a world full of debit cards, credit cards and loans, it's easy to be swayed by promotions and other deals.

Most times, the things that are promoted, on sale, and the like are the ones we don't really need. If we don't have a budget, we will always be break even, we earn, we spend, we earn more, we spend more----- and that will be it for the next years of our lives and it's going to be a cycle and a rat race.

So, if you are doing something that might be beneficial to the world, share it.

Discreet Scream

Ahhhhhh!!! Listen to me, just once!

Ears are created not just for hearing but for listening but listening is not an easy skill too....
Listening takes a lot of hard work and patience. In order for you to listen, you need to at least try to tame your own tongue, pause and shut your ideas, disagree to yourself. Try doing that for a few when you feel like you're the one who wants to be heard, you'll find yourself not doing it easily.

When both parties want to be heard, no one seems to want to try to listen-- both would want to talk their heart out even to the point of screaming and yelling. You feel like you're not being heard but really, you never took time to pause, breathe, stop and listen.. why? because you wanna be heard.

I know! it's not like I did not know you want to be heard but like you, someone wants it so bad too-- and it just so happen, you both wanted it at the same time that you both didn't listen. What a chaotic site! listen to me, no you listen to me! You're not listening, no you're not listening! Stop! Stop! Stop!

You both might want to scream discreetly or scream loudly but no matter how loud or discreet it might be, your voice is useless. It won't be heard, no one will listen.

When will you be heard? when will you stop screaming discreetly, until when will you hold it in? until someone is willing to listen, until you are willing to stop, until you are willing to step down and say, my voice might have been too loud yet discreet, allow me to listen...

I'm listening, tell me...
