I almost gave up on our current government setting but the YES2009 keeps my blood from flowing and boiling..
It motivated me once again for positive changes that I can contribute to my country.
The speaker that I most loved and inspired to was Mr. Nando Parrado... tears welled off my cheeks and I couldn't imagine that I am listening to an inspiration and to a person that will forever CHANGE my Life's perspective...thus giving me hope and more dreams to be fulfilled...
Change will not stop from the summit alone, I will forever cherish the experience and I always share it to the youth of Iligan. I always had the opportunity of sharing them the goodness of life, the importance of believing and how their thoughts and actions could change the world..because of my on going activity. And Yes, I will continue sharing it with them..
At first, I wanted to join Seachange just for the sake of meeting new people and making new connections.. But I realized, It weren't just about making friends and creating networks but it was about the positive change that I'll be able to cultivate into myself. I now had the motivation to live life with dreams, with passion for change and with hope for development.
After the event, I would love to at least have an event like YES in my City. But honestly, I don't know where to start, how to start and who to ask for.. I wanted to re-echo it to the Iligan Youth that Change is what we need.
I hope the next YES will last at least 5 days to 1 week with different schedule dates..I suppose each week will only be participated by 100 youth from Southeast asia or perhaps 50.. and the next week will again be participated by 100 youth from southeast asia.. and the next week.. and so on..this is to strenthen the bond of the delegates and further enhance strong networks.. through this, were not just enjoying.. we're making strong bonds and beautiful friendship.
I also suggest that the summit be held with a certain topic to discuss to by the participants as to create better understanding and communication..(ex. FTA, Environment, Human Rights, Education, TEchnology, etc.)
Maybe invite speakers that will discuss certain topics and shuffle the participants according to the topics stated.
It would also be nice if the participant had the opportunity to at least enjoy themselves for a day..like spending time together to a party or an educational tour within the country.
And with regards to room assignment, it would be better if each room will be shared by different participants of different countries..
Meanwhile, I want you to know that I had the best experience in the summit~! Wanna know why? hahahaha~! The bus left us during the second day,. and we had no choice but to commute.. but the public bus did not send us to Putrajaya convention Center.. so we had no choice but walk for more or less 3 kilometers.. and we spend like almost 2 hours walking.. I had a learning experience too, "don't talk to strangers and never ever ride to a car whom you don't know the driver" or else, you'll offend him.. (I actually thought the driver was a kidnapper) so I was about to step out of the car even if its moving~! good thing, he was a police officer!!!
I am now back to reality.. and I am ready to face the future with motivation and positive outlook to life~!
